Quotes by John Lennon
(I highlighted the most important to me personally...do you have any?) As the 8th of Dec. nears and we take a moment in memoriam for John.... let us look back on some of his more famous quotes. Blessings to you John for what you were able to leave us and for being who you were. Quote:

Thank you Pan6467.
When I was 11, his album, Imagine sat in its special spot on top of my dresser. I was 21 when he died. Such a Spark he was, and always will be. |
I was 12 when he died and I remember hearing the news like it was yesterday....I cant say I agree with everything he said....but he was a man that did what he spoke and for that I have to admire him

I was just over the "30yo" hump when he was killed and I first saw him/The Beatles in 1963 live in Philadelphia, and to me they were very signficant from that moment on, and he was a large part of that signficance.
I really don't think John would want to "R.I.P." Probably he'd rather have us all keep up the struggle toward peace. |
Wow, it crept up on me this year. Thank you for this post. I will too add my favorite quotes shortly. I am at work and have a meeting in a few.
I was in kindergarten when he was killed, i remember it clearer than almost any of my other childhood memories. I was brought up on the Beatles and Lennon and so will my children. |
Thank you for posting that tribute. And thanks for the legacy, John.
Every lyric of Imagine says it for me. I still get goosebumps when I hear it or recall the words. Little gems from an interview: I don't believe in yesterday, by the way. I don't stand back and judge — I do. |
Always my favorite Beatle. God bless you John Lennon, you are missed.

I can still recall hearing Howard Cosell on Monday night football. I woke up my wife and told her this was like the President being shot. I remember the depression that hung over all of us for weeks. The way he was taken away, so tragic and so opposite of his life. Sometimes I wonder what could have been. I'd love to hear some of his sarcastic wit about the way things are now. And some new Lennon tunes. Very few people can be credited with changing the world. I think time will prove that he, as part of the Beatles, did.

I wasn't fortunate enough to have lived during Lennon's lifetime, but I like to think that he's positively effected my life just the same.
"If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace." - John Lennon The man was a visionary. I only wish that he would have had more time. |
nice reminders..
thanks, pan.. |
thanks pan............
RIP Johnny........... |
Sorry I don't have more to offer than this, but I went to NYC over the Thanksgiving holiday and visited Strawberry Field in Central Park. There's a small memorial dedicated to him on a walkway there. "IMAGINE" is written out in big letters, and small pictures of him and flowers are laid around. There's also a guitar. I remember one woman was crying there. Even though it's been nearly 3 decades after his death, he still invokes a lot of emotion among visitors.
