Kevin Mitnick's Business Card

Kevin Mitnick is a hacker... a very impressive hacker nonetheless! His business card is equally awesome:

Man, I wish I'd had a cool card like that at some point in my career...

Very nice. I bet if you sharpened the edges, it could be a pretty lethal weapon.

Right now, that's one single piece of metal...and is art. I don't think they can be considered tools until someone rips them off and makes them such.

That was part of his supervied release program; during which he was not allowed to use any communications technology except a landline telephone. Mitnick fought the decision in court and a judge ruled in his favor, allowing him to access the Internet via computer.

Theres a bit more to it than that, without the proper heat treatment they're just lumps of metal.

Check your state laws. In some states it's considered prima facie evidence of intent to commit butrgulary if you arent' a licensed locksmith.

MSD, that's partly true, but afaik possession isn't illegal if the tools cannot show intent. It's much like possessing key blanks. If they cannot prove intent, it is not illegal. I'm sure the laws vary state to state, though, but since it IS a factual business card, I'd be shocked if it'd hold up in court. You cannot control what they put business cards on.

So if someone prints their card on a blotter full of LSD I'm free and clear in court?

Cool!

Other than being the victim of assault, you're good to go.

Like I said, some states consider possession of lock picking tools prima facie evidence of intent to commit burgulary, and around half make possession of the tools legal. You can't carry an illegal gun and claim it's legal because you didn't intend to use it, because possession is illegal; if possessing lock picks is illegal, it doesn't matter what for they're in, it's still illegal.

I would think the long bar could be easily bent into an L shape. I love it though, makes me want to meet him just to get a card.
