We’ve got to remember that new members are not thick skinned yet and don’t know the rules, they will fuck up, and if we don’t correct them in a decent manner, they will leave.
Oh come on. I prefer to give new users the benefit of the doubt that they're not sniveling children. If the OP can't take a little good-natured ribbing, especially after what was frankly a ridiculous opening post, then I'll freely admit that yes, I should indeed have treated him or her like a sniveling child.

But when someone can't bother to take the time to write more than 6 words explaining their situation and what they want, what are we to do? If you want to have a kid, you should have sex. If the situation is more complicated than that, then you need to explain yourself.

Apparently this is much ado about nothing - the op returned and didn't even notice anyone giving her a hard time.

This is frequently how the story goes. *If* they even return.

Is it just me or do people tend to ignore my off color comments? I'm half and half on this. I don't just talk to hear my own voice... I want people to pay attention.

Fuckers.

A lot of what you say seems to be non sequiturs. It doesn't even seem that you want a response, sometimes.
Still tends to be interesting, though.

I tend to respond to you in kind. I enjoy your comments. They breathe levity into otherwise dense threads.

Speaking for myself, I don't wish to validate pointless attention seeking in someone else's thread. Just like I did now.

That only means you missed the whole point of my first post. The thread was about voicing unpopular opinions or saying things that might offend some people. I said something that most would find offensive.

I am actually a big fan of Jew jokes. Most things that people find offensive, I find funny.

We all fail sometimes in being rude or nice. No one is perfect. One good lesson I learned being online since 1990 is that when I am getting really mad at something someone posted, then it probably is good for me to ask more questions of them. If I end up still hating them for their illogical assumptions or evil ways, then that is find, but at least I tried to figure out what they were saying instead of jumping down their throat the first second I saw what they wrote.

Another lesson I found about myself is that if I get really angry with someone online, it might be because I have not eaten or slept enough or I need a drink of water as my eyes are drying out. LOL

In person chatting with TFPers is so much more respectful. But then online debate is all about free speech and I often find out what people really are thinking. In person, we often censor ourselves more. I find that a strong view online is not as strong in person.

Fuckers.

I LOVE your off-color comments.

I'm paying attention.

Motherfucker.

Well, they'll stone ya when you're trying to be so good,
They'll stone ya just a-like they said they would.
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to go home.
Then they'll stone ya when you're there all alone.
But I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned.

Well, they'll stone ya when you're walkin' 'long the street.
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to keep your seat.
They'll stone ya when you're walkin' on the floor.
They'll stone ya when you're walkin' to the door.
But I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned.

They'll stone ya when you're at the breakfast table.
They'll stone ya when you are young and able.
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to make a buck.
They'll stone ya and then they'll say, "good luck."
Tell ya what, I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned.

Well, they'll stone you and say that it's the end.
Then they'll stone you and then they'll come back again.
They'll stone you when you're riding in your car.
They'll stone you when you're playing your guitar.
Yes, but I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned.

Well, they'll stone you when you walk all alone.
They'll stone you when you are walking home.
They'll stone you and then say you are brave.
They'll stone you when you are set down in your grave.
But I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned.
