I am slightly amused by this story. She looks cute and she's 20 years younger than her victim. Was the woman mentally ill? Why didn't she pick up a goth dude -who would probably be into the bloodplay and scarification?

Being a membership of the kinky community, those stories always make me cringe. Aside from the damage it does to the image of the bdsm lifestyle, I am saddened to hear that someone was injured and second to hear the another person is so unwell and not receiving psychiatric care.

It sounds to me like the mother's been trying to get the daughter put away someplace where at least she won't be a danger to others, and obviously the system has failed in that way.

I don't read into this where "mom" tried to get the daughter put away someplace. I read it more as trying to cover own ass, after the fact. If the mother knew that her daughter should not have been on the streets, then I would think that more should've/could've been done to see that that happened...other than just casualy telling the police that her daughter was trouble.

Correct me if I am wrong, and I may well be, but can't a family member have someone involuntarily commited? What would that entail? Certainly some form of psych exam. Surely that would've brought the turds to the surface of the pond.

You know that this "victim" will not press charges since he will be up on charges himself for drug use. Hopefully the reporter does a follow-up story in a few weeks. Or maybe that one guy could do a "Rest of the story" show on this happy couple ?
