Have your handwriting analyzed (Free)

"While we cannot read minds, we can see certain body movements. Tone of voice, getures, posture, body structure, and manner of dress can be interpreted as clues to inner psychological make-up and behavior.

"As you write your are consciously attempting a message. Beyond the conscious information contained in the written words, the handwriting also divulges information about you and how you felt unconsciously as you wrote."

Karen Kristin Amend and Mary Stansbury Ruiz, Authors of "Hand Writing Analysis"

Hello, I decided to start my new hobby, and I thought it would be fun to share it here on TFP. If you would like your handwriting analyzed, write at least two paragraphs on any subject you would like. We'll use this as your handwriting sample. For best results, use a medium ball point pen. Neatness, spelling and grammer aren't very important, just relax as you write. Then scan your writing sample or take a picture of it. You can send it to me in one of three ways:

1. Public: Submit it to this thread. I'll post my analysist here as well, for all to see.

2. Anonymous: Email me your writing sample. I'll submit it without revealing your identity (all names and cities will be censored), and I'll present the analysist on the thread with your writing sample.

3. Private: Email me your writing sample, and I'll send my analysis to your email only. It won't be posted, and you will be the only one to see the results.

Send me a private message with your email if you would like an Anonymous or Private reading.

I'll have updates at least twice a week, on Monday and Wednesday nights.

I'll do this and go one step further. I have a tendency to write in different styles depending on whether I care or not how it looks. I'll give you two samples-let's see if the analysis of each matches.

Oh why not! :D Okay, here ya go.

couldn't really think of anything to write, and you said it didn't matter, so I just copied your main paragraph. It's not two paragraphs, but it's more than the others posted.

Is there any scientific proof that handwriting analysis does anything? I thought it was debunked years ago as gobbly gook and went the way of phrenology.

Jinn 10-02-2006 07:00 AM

Oh Ustwo, but didn't you know that the writer's attempt to maintain a vertical slant clearly reflects his effort to adopt a "detached or impersonal attitude, positively characterized by independence and restraint, but negatively by self-centeredness and rigidity." And of course, "this aloof and impartial demeanor, reinforced by wide spacing between lines, reveals someone resisting the influence of both outside forces and inner emotions, preferring to rely on reason. His is an artificial or escapist attitude, including suppression of emotion rather than absence of emotion."

Sounds scientifically verifiable to me. DUH!

Phrenology, handwriting analysis, physcology, religion.. the list goes on. They can be useful, helping us to make a decision we wouldn't otherewise make - but they're far from definitive, accurate, or universally applicable. I've still got QuackWatch bookmarked, at any rate. :)

ngdawg 10-02-2006 08:25 AM

Handwriting analysis, at least in certain forms, is used in civil and criminal court cases, not just for personality tests, of course, but to A: compare points in determining if samples are from the same person and conversely, show forgery, and B: to show degeneration/change of a person's mental state.
Many people try to copy handwriting, but some characteristics are so inherent, it's almost impossible, which is why more than just a signature is needed for any analysis.
There are some standard descriptions in personality analyses, such as a T crossed high is generally optimistic or open letters mean an open mind. But it has been at least gone over in psychology books and is not altogether dismissed as so much 'silliness'.
Besides, it's fun to see how accurate things like this are. Anyone remember 'biographs'?:)

Well Sugah, the last time someone said that to me, it was followed by, "But I already have a boyfriend". So you'll understand if I'm a bit bias :p

From what I can tell, you have a well balanced personality, flexible in relationships to others. With an ability for closeness and for reserve where it's appropriate.

You are also someone who demands attention in an extravagant and/or exaggerated manner. Would you say that you have a need to be noticed?

And at times, you can be cruel and sarcastic.

Bear in mind you guys, that I'm still learning here. If I'm right on the mark, let me know. And should I be waaaaaay off, then let me know as soon as you can. This way, we can learn faster, and future analysist will be more accurate, and contain more info as well.

*sob* you skipped over mine. :(

That's actually pretty good. I find that I have to distance myself at times from folks. Why? I'm not sure since I seem to thrive on attention!

Yes, I think you have it pretty darn close to the mark 777.

Kinda scared me there for abit. I was afraid it might be more complexed. :D And with that in mind, let's see NG's!!! :D :D :D

Hey Sugah your just like me!!

Im sure most of you are just having fun, I just cant help myself :D

777 10-13-2006 01:09 AM

Hey guys, sorry I'm late.

Ngdawg - Rather then go into I long analysis, I'd rather address the change in your character from your "Scribble", to your "Nice" writing. Judging solely on your "Nice" writing, it comes off as very cold. You'll still be sociable, yet keep everyone at arms' length. I imagine that you use your nice writing when you're at work, or meeting new people. So I'm certain that you'll behave in a similar manner in those settings, rather than being the NG we've all come to know and, like.

So relax and stick to the Scribbling :p

I'll get to the rest of you people soon. Next in line: SonofaGun

LOL! I can't help myself either Mrs. Master! :D

Just wanted you to know that I read your posts and they are full of great advice!

Just had to respond to Mrs. Master, but awaiting everyone else's analysis. ;)

sonofagun 11-06-2006 01:05 AM

darn... I'm hoping 777 just happened to get busy, otherwise it looks like I'm not getting my reading :-/

777 11-06-2006 10:23 PM

I thought I was forgetting something :) Consider me the abcentminded sooth sayer.

SonOfaGun: You are extraverted, emotional and something of a diplomat. You are also optimistic, energetic and ambition. Which may or may not lead to nervousness and restlessness.

Next is ShaniFaye, then Divagrrrl.

Sorry 777, way off :)

I'm extremely introverted, like shy to the nth degree. I'm not too emotional, not that I hate being emotional, but it just doesn't seem to come naturally to me. Diplomatic, a little - I usually am decent at solving arguments, and am generally not overtly disliked by anyone. As far as optimistic, kind of, though in a very pessimistic sort of way :) . Energetic and ambitious, not at all! I'm never nervous, and since I get about 10 hours of sleep a day [see, I'm just THAT much not energetic, nor ambitious], restlessness just doesn't come into play.

Good shot though, and I hope my comments can somehow help you. Then again, I'm sure handwriting analysis isn't foolproof. Sometimes people probably just don't fit their profile right. Chances are, you're probably right, and I'm living all wrong :)
