Who do you think is the most exploited celebrity in history? If you see a celebrity not on the list, post it, and explain why they should be on the list.

More crap has been done in the name of Jesus that it's hard to say that anyone has ever been more exploited than him.

However, does he qualify as a celebrity???

I wouldn't call half of those people celebrities. Calling Jesus a celebrity, exploted or not, just makes you look like you're trying to start an argument, not have a discussion. When I think of a celebrity, I think of Britney Spears or Nicholas Cage. Not political or religious figures.

Jesus H. Christ can be used for any pitch in the world and probably has been, just because stupid people like to do that. THIS is why I am not a religious man....

Jesus is the only non-twentieth century person listed, so I'll go with him...

Celebrities=famous people not necessarily confined to pop and movie stars.

An easy definition: If they were alive today, would they be hounded by the paparazzi? True, most of that goes to the music and movie stars - but politicians, prominent social figures, and religious leaders all have to put up with it too.

You know, I'm going to have to admit, I'm not really totally sure if I'd consider any of those people to be the most exploited celebrities. In fact, I'm not sure I'd consider some of them to be celebrities at all. I guess that's another story.

Out of that list, clearly it has to be Jesus. Just look at 2000 years of Western civilization. You might want to start with the Crusades.

More recently, I am amazed at how MLK's family exploits his memory. They sue for royalties on his speeches, which are news events, not works of art. His widow and son are a kind of psuedo royalty around Atlanta, and their exploits would be comical if they were not so sad.

Jesus has to be the most exploited person in history - Some manage to use him in every manner other than the right one for everything uder the sun.
