I need your help
ok, so, basically, welding in the williston basin oilfields is already only after a couple of months, REALLY wearing on me. So it's time to spool out other means of income.
so basically I've decided to try just making some cool stuff, like midevil seige engines, absurdly powerful potato guns, but what I am really interested in doing is forging some nice replica weapons, but I need ideas. Do you know of any cool comic book/graphic novel weaponry that you would like to see in the real? any other nifty ideas will be considered, so lets hear em.

lightsaber?
first thing that came to mind. Trebuchets are awesome and highly impractical. I can't think of anything else that I would personally be interested in seeing. maybe other folks have ideas for you!

I have always liked those cool looking Iron fences, with the iron lattice-work, That might be something you could think about...
People pay big bucks for custom welding work for new houses and that kind of thing, if you are in the right area... that and coats of armor with matching broad swords...

There's a guy in town here who does all kinds of custom ironwork, including iron (and steel) gates for driveways, private estates, etc. -- amazing stuff with patterns of hunting cats, birds of prey, etc., designed in.
Also, take a look at archives about Burning Man and see if any of the metal goodies people whomp up for that interest you. Like the fire organ: http://www.flickr.com/photos/yoz/54156048/ I walk by this thing on my lunch hour every day. It's parked in somebody's driveway. |

Go here to look at some of the daggers from World of Warcraft: http://www.thottbot.com/?iclass=2.15 If you click on the weapon for the description, part of the description is a rendering of the weapon as it appears in-game. Another way to do it is to just view all the weapon models: http://www.thottbot.com/?rb=1
