I love its simplicity.

When I search for a member, where it should say "visit {user}'s journal" it instead says "visit xs journal"

Not a huge issue, obviously.

Also, when you click on the "Last Entry" link in a user profile, the "Close Window" button in the ensuing window doesn't respond.

Thanks so much, Halx. It was getting tiring to have to sort through all the TB threads.

Just a note - and this is not directed towards anyone specific at all - the new warning system did not transfer over old warnings. It would be far too much work to try and go through every single user to transfer the old warnings over, but we are transferring warnings over when we come across them.

If you don't have it yet, get Mozilla Firefox and set it up to take TFP cookies and a password, but for those two or three who use AOL, it won't use FF, it uses IE only and no amount of coaxing will do otherwise.
ng, I'm on AOL and Firefox and they both seem to be handling the upgrade perfectly fine for me.
What was it that wasn't working?

"manage attachments'. couldn't upload pix from my pc because no option was given but it shows in Firefox. Still not there today in AOL/IE. If anyone knows how to get AOL to browse using FF (used to before I reformatted this past winter, or so I assumed), pm me with the specifics, please? I can't seem to upgrade to IE7 because I don't have SP2 installed and am trying to avoid doing so.

This is because I deleted the search indexes.. I'll rebuild them soon. It takes a while.

Ah, alright. Sounds good to me.

This isn't a bug or anything, but I have a question about searches.

If I searched for something like "shirts brown" (without the quotes) would it only pull things that have "shirts brown" in one phrase or would it do a search for shirts, brown, and threads with both words in them?

It searches based on relevancy.. so.. your second idea is more accurate.

Just a couple things I noticed so far. On the 2e_forest skin, the warning percentage's are not visable. (not a big deal as I will go to a different skin soon) Also, in this same skin, when I hover over a thread that has code in it, (i.e. [img] <i>, etc.) the code shows up in the preview. It didn't do that before. Not sure if it does it in any other skins. I'll change them around and check it out in a bit.

So far I'm liking the change. Thanks for the good job man.

Journals seem to be really slow to load...I'm assuming this is because it now lists more than one entry. Obviously journalers with more entries take longer to load...but it just seems really long. Is it just me?

Yes it does load slow. I'm also guessing it's because the last entry loads all of the entries. So basically, (for now) it's like using the 'view all entries' button.

I have the same issue Q. Some load faster than others... but in general is seems slow because it is loading the whole journal rather than just the lastest posts (that's my guess).

None of the text editing tools seem to be working for me in either Quick Reply or Adcanced Reply (I don't think they were working in Journals either).

(I am using Firefox 2.0a1 - Bon Echo)

I had no problems over the weekend on my Mac, but here at work (shh!) on WinXP, TFP keeps logging me out. It could be because my web browser is Bon Echo (a.k.a. Firefox 2.0alpha)* on both platforms, but before I troubleshoot further, I just thought I'd ask and see if it is happening with anyone else.

---
* Heh, I totally missed that Charlatan just explained that in the post above me. Nevermind.

Idiot. The "Remember Me" checkoff on the login page should do the trick. RTFM.

In order to change my skins I'm having to go into User CP> edit options. The scroll list on the bottom of the page isn't working for me (it was earlier when I was forced to use IE)

Now I'm on a XPsp2 machine with FF

Someone already said this, but I'll say it again: The journals are taking forever to load!! It's nearly impossible to load Cyn's or ART's because they have so many entries... is anyone else having this problem?

yes, everyone is having this issue. There is no working 'latest entry' function (at least not that I know of) at this time. The journals will load all entries. So for now.. be patient in the journal section

yup - it's because it's no longer loading just the last entry - it's loading the entire journal...

Read all the posts to see if the answer was there, didn't see it. I'm also being warned at zero percent on all of my computers, Win 98, XP, 2000. I don't even have all of the browser versions here. Just reporting in. Figure I can reload my avatar myself.

Thanks. Appreciate all the work and time spent.

I was reading the very long thread at vbulletin.org (I'm a 3rd of the way through) and found:
Quote:
Private entries/journals that are allowed to be viewed by Journal Buddies or Users in "Who Can View" will not be updated, so they won't show up even if you are one of the Users who has permission to view unless they are edited (just click edit and save afterwards).
Also, if the last entry of a Journal is private it might show up on the journal index if you do not have permission to view it.
So, try editing the entry and we'll see if it works again.

I haven't seen any other responses to this. Will the direct chat link be reinstated? I can get there on my own, but it's less convenient and without it, newcomers won't even know it's there.

Chat is where I really began to connect with other members and come out of my lurker shell. I'd hate to see that interactive environment not fully taken advantage of.

Chat is up there on the navigation bar. It wont be if you're using one of the experimental styles though.

Hey Hal(x)...one more low-priority journal anomaly:

If I add a mood to my journal entry, the icons are rexxed. Their address is listed as http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/, so I'm assuming that might be a vBulletin default.

Thanks!

I just removed the icons. I removed them from the last version too. I have no desire to add icons for every single stupid mood.

Oh ya and I'd like to announce that Insignia is fully functional.

....and on that note, I-Bulletin and fromBasics Dark are also fully functional
