my sleep cycle has been fucked by two straight days of staying up till 5:30am on purpose. Now it's 3:40am and I dont feel a bit tired. Shit.

Nhanced1 12-04-2004 06:44 AM

Parties are fun, Staying up late is fun, Realizing that you don't have time to sleep and make it to work the next day... not fun.

Reguardless, I'd like to join the insomiac club because I've been one ever since I got my new condo. I swear its been a non-stop party around here. If its not a LAN Party, its a traditional one. Its testing my cleaning patience. I can only pour so many unfinished beverages down the drain before I'll snap.

Sometimes I think that I am afraid to sleep because I'll miss something... but then I remember that I hate sleeping anyway and if I could do away with it completely, I would.

I know I'm coming back to this thread...

Bryndian_Dhai 12-15-2004 01:18 AM

Well, let's see.... it's currently 3:15am cst. I've exhausted my list of things to do (well, the stuff I can do quietly anyway), I'm surfing TFP desperately for things to read and post on.... And it looks like the zillionth day/night in a row that I've done exactly the same thing....

Yep, looks like I'm a chronic insomniac. Sign me up! *grins*

I'm BryndianDhai on AIM if anyone's interested.

ICER 12-15-2004 01:34 AM

Guess I qualify, here it is a little after 3:30 (CST) and I'm surfing the web. scanning chat rooms, Channel surfing the TV. looking for something to entertain my brain.

and haveing no luck at all.

Hi all, I'm new here so be nice to me! :) I've been an insomniac for years now, literally, so felt I had to join in. So far I've gone 45 hours with no sleep whatsoever, so am off to try and have a nap now.

I work 6:00pm to 6:00am Mon.- Thur.

Its Sunday morning 7:30am and I'm eating supper. Is that fucked or what! Five year night owl still going strong. Can I join?

amonkie 09-04-2005 03:17 AM

Here's another graveyard worker .... I hear the owls on my nights off :) 4:20am here...

skier 11-19-2005 03:02 AM

4AM and i'm still up. Why do I let myself get into these messes...

Sleep would be so awesome right now

yellowchef 11-22-2005 02:56 AM

Because...

I need to go to bed!! School starts again soon and I cant be doing this shit.

Ananas 11-22-2005 07:22 PM

Not so much an insomniac as a night owl. I love being up at night, just wish there were more decent eateries open at 2-3 a.m.

noodle 12-12-2005 09:53 PM

I'm a card carrying insomniac.

i'm used to multiple nights in a row of 3-4 hours of sleep... but after two Tylenol Cold Nighttimes and a bunch of nose spray, you'd think i'd get some way to crash out and sleep off this respiratory bug. I have to get up in four hours. Ugh.

troit 12-13-2005 11:47 PM

I am right now....actually since I have moved to NYC I have been sleeping much better but tonight, not so good. Oh well...

zz0011 12-14-2005 02:15 AM

Sleep?

I work 2 jobs, and in one I wear 4 hats. The 2nd job is part time pay with full time hours. I have a wife, 4 kids and a dog. I try to have a life. And shower regularly. ;)

What's this strange thing you're calling sleep?

Oh wait, I think I used to remember something like that...

Now a days, I just let myself pass out from sheer exhaustion. Utter exhaustion is too extreme for me. SHEER exhaustion: much neater.

Sleep?

Plan9 09-18-2007 07:08 PM

According to some... I live here 24/7.

spectre 09-18-2007 07:53 PM

After more than a decade of insomnia and no help from a few different sleep medications, I'm finally getting a decent amount of sleep thanks to another medication. It's so nice not to be nodding off during the daytime. :)

If anyone is having chronic problems with insomnia, I highly recommend seeing a specialist in sleep disorders.

paah! Sleep is for the weak!

MHAHAHAHAHAAHA!

How do you all expect me to uphold my reputation as a complete lunatic if I sleep? If I sleep... I'll get all.... ugh... NORMAL!!!.

NONONONONONONONONONONO!

I won't do it I tell you! I wont!

I agree I much prefer to pass out from exhaustion than just go gently into sleep. It's like fighting death, you know you'll lose but the battle keeps you around a lot longer.

DaveOrion 09-19-2007 01:43 AM

My sleep cycle has also been screwed up recently, and often I cant sleep at all. I'll have to join also......nothing profound or funny to say, thats it.

QuasiMondo 09-23-2007 08:31 PM

Nothing to watch on TV, and nothing to surf, because I'm lacking imagination, so here I am, sitting at the laptop hitting F5 over and over and over...

Jetée 09-27-2007 10:13 AM

Alright... I'll join, only because I make the conscious decision to stay awake during the night/early morning hours. I feel more at ease in this state, even if I am left with little to do or no one to converse with. I am much more productive without the hustle and bustle of daywalkers, and I much rather see them when they are tired in the late afternoon. :D

In truth, I can fall asleep at any time I desire, and I sleep soundly for a duration of at least nine hours if left undisturbed. If not, have no worries, since I can still function normally and with little fatigue if I get as little as four-five hours of sleep.

Munku 09-30-2007 11:57 PM

I think the absolute worst, is when it's 2 am, you realize your normal sleep schedule starts at 6 am, and you have 4 hours, alone, with absolutely nothing to do. So what do you do? You sit on your computer and check the same 3 websites over and over again, expecting there to somehow be something new to see, but alas, it's no different than when you checked 8 minutes ago. Damnit.
