I've seen this on another couple of boards and there's some discussion of whether or not it's for real.

I'd imagine it's a joke... some sort of practical joke played by friends or coworkers. *shrug*

I'd be pretty sure it's a fake. Look at the photo. It looks like it was taken without his specific cooperation, by a co-worker. If it was real, I'm sure he would have managed a better photo.

I'd hit it. well.. no I wouldn't. it's probably a prank being played on the poor guy.

What is a "slap up dinner?"

I can barely type this for laughing. Judging by the terminology I would say that this is English. A 'slap up meal' is what we English would term posh or extravagant. Not sure if it's exclusive to a particular region, or even if it's common in other countries of the UK, but definitely from this side of the pond. At a guess I would say that it's more southern England than anything.

I can't see this been real, my vote is that it's one for the prank file, and a damn good prank at that. Poor bloke though, you've got to kind of feel sorry for him.

Just did a search and it is an Ebay listing. Either one crazy dude or somebody pranked the crap out of him. I'd vote for the prank but then again just look at that photo..........................
