The "Help get Astrocloud out of Hotwater" Thread
My sig other is furious. I lost her cell phone last night and I have no idea where it is. It's not in the house and it's not in the car. When I call it -it rings for a while so I believe the battery is still working and the phone is on ... somewhere.
We were at a friends house and she gave me the phone. The details are blurry because I was drinking. Now I've lost my cellphone before and I was lucky enough that someone at a restaurant found it and gave it to the management who answered it when I called. Any Ideas on how to find a lost cellphone? |
I'd keep calling it and hope someone answers it...
or check with the friend who's house you were at and ask to come over to search for it |
Stop calling it... you're keeping my kids awake with all that ringing.

The only way I've found lost cell phones is by calling it and having an honest person answer. Hopefully a friend from the party picked it up and just isn't answering it...yet.

Funny story that won't help at all:
A couple years ago, lurkette and I were on vacation visiting my parents. One night we went to this great asian restaurant for dinner, and when we left, lurkette forgot her pocketbook. The way this pocketbook worked was, there was a slot inside the cover of it to hold her palm pilot. On our way home from the restaurant, my grandmother called my mother's cell phone, extremely upset. She said had just gotten a call from some chinese-sounding person who had kidnapped lurkette and was holding her for ransom. Turns out, our waitress had opened the purse, seen the palm pilot, turned it on, and saw my grandmother's number, which was the most recent one lurkette had looked up, and called it. Somehow between the woman's accent and my grandmother's poor hearing and sketchy grasp on modern life, the "We have your granddaughter's purse" turned into "We have your granddaughter". Funny story. Told you it wouldn't help. |

 That's hilarious! |
Check the online call history often. If someone's making outgoing calls you know why they aren't answering.

Tell the cell phone company. They can always locate the cell phone to within one cell, which may be enough to help you remember where it is. Depending on the model of the phone, they may be able to locate it to within a few feet.
