Sure it sucked to see the site go down, but never fear.. you got it back up, and we're all streaming in with registrations. I was here only long enought to accumlate about 160 posts or so.. and that was easily enough to make me return. Now with the restart.. It seems many lurkers are eager to join.. Must be all about the post count.. hehehe

I wasn't a member here for more then a couple of days before the board went down, but i've been hanging around the IRC channel quite a bit and think this is one place i wouldn't mind being at for a long time to come.

I know the pains of losing a database as large (well, maybe not as large, but close) as this one, but i've never had to sit down and rebuild it. So cudos to you sir, and my thanks.

Man glad to it back. I finally made it over 300 posts the last time so here we go again. Thanks for putting it back up Hal!

Altough this week has been one of my more productive in a long time.

Today is a great day in the life of our TFP, for it has been borne back into existence stronger, and with more resolve. Many thanks to Halx for all his hard work, and his sleepless nights.

So there I was finally back online last night after my computer being dead for almost 2 weeks... go and catch up on the TFP... <i>what the hell?</i> Oh well, good to be back. Starting over with a clean slate can turn out to be the best even if you don't have to...

Cheers to you Halx. Not many people out there have the perserverance and dedication you have. Most people I know would have just said "fuck it"... other sites need to learn from this one.

Hmm... this whole episode does show the need of regular backups.

Probably too much data in the case of TFP, but for my own PC, it'd be doable.

(On a brighter note: the site is *very* quick now... :D )

Wow I am very glad to see TFP back. I've been bummed out lately, and coming home from work to see the TFP back up has made my weekend. It's a shame that the old one had to die, but for progress to occur, there has to be death.

I'm also glad for the second chance to use my normal internet name "frenik", that I fucked up in the old TFP with (made an account & forgot about it, came back a few months later and it was locked, so I created lagarto).

I like this look, too. Not sure if it's new, I always used dark cloud advanced, but this is nice. Good job Hal!

edit: and judging from the number of posts already, this is gonna be a great incarnation of the TFP

What a great thread to make my first post on version 4 of TFP. This is the fourth time I've started from 0, and I have a feeling this is gonna be the best yet. Judging by how much growth here already I'm going to have a lot of catching up to do when I get back from the weekend!

It certainly is great to be back.

This site is the best forum I have been to on the Internet, and it is great to see Halx putting in all the hours to keep it going, even after it goes poof temporarily.

Hell yes, but first I want to thank Halx for getting the TFP going again. Here in Atlanta, we use the Pheonix as a symbol and I think it is an appropriate image here. My shakes are finally starting to subside as the withdrawl symptoms are beaten back.

I had the same problem, dead computer for over 2 weeks really sucks, I was starting to suffer from withdrawal, I didnt realise how much of a ritual getting online and checking whats new had become, thanx halx and all the others behind the board.

Great job getting things up and running again. I've seen sites that have taken months to recover after a crash--or never come back at all.

So glad to see that TFP is back up and running just like before...I was scared for a little while. Well...its great to be back.

Must be some kind of epidemic - my system was down for just over a week...bought all kinds of parts only to discover in the end that the processor fan was intermittantly failing. Grr.
