(Charlatan said he had a thing for these batgirls, so...)

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power.
They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues.
They are messengers of overwhelming grief…and unspeakable love.

A Christie’s employee poses for photographs behind a
Roman bronze helmet found with the use of a metal detector,
at the auction house’s offices in London, Monday, Sept. 13, 2010.
The helmet is topped with a griffin. The face mask features
perfectly arched eyebrows and an ancient gaze, framed by curls,
and it is up for auction. Considered an extraordinary example of
Roman metalwork, the mask was discovered in a field in
northwestern England by a treasure-hunter armed with a
metal detector. It is to be offered at auction Oct. 7 by Christie’s,
with a guide price of 200,000 to 300,000 pounds,
euro 240,000 to 360,000 ($242,000 to 363,000).

In his book "Journey to California", photographer Dennis Stock has collected
everything that caught his attention during a trip to the Sunshine State.
This picture can be called "Death on the beach."

On March 20, dozens of artists appeared at a performance art exhibition [pictured above]
at the Beijing Museum of Contemporary Art. Some of the pieces touched on the current crack-
down on freedom of expression and the "Jasmine Revolution," and as a result four artists were
detained. On March 24, Beijing artists Huang Xiang (黄香), Zhui Hun (追魂), and Cheng Li (成力)
were criminally detained for "causing a disturbance" by officers from the Songzhuang police station in Beijing.

On Facebook, the Soap Factory says the detention is "part of the deplorable government
crack down on creative expression." As Chinese Human Rights Defenders wrote on Mar. 31,
"The Chinese government has criminally detained a total of 26 individuals, disappeared
more than 30, and put more than 200 under soft detention since mid-February after
anonymous calls for 'Jasmine Revolution' protests first appeared online."
