As for his motivation, if his parents are so anti booze,I guess he shouldnt leave his booze in his room.I cant speak from experience, cos Ive never been "grounded". But if he is old enough to drink 12 beers he should be old enough to stand up to his parents, not hurt his sister as a proxy for his anger at them.
