This is just nuts. Did this guy statically charge his neighborhood or something?!

Shit, if I were him, I would've bought a lottery ticket right after that happened. Talking about luck, man.

Holy crap! That's nuts! Only twice has lightning hit that close to me and it scared the bejebus off of me.

Once I was looking out my window and it hit across the street. The second time was about 2 weeks ago at a lake. I was out visiting a friend at a camp site and took at at like 1AM, there was a big storm rolling in across the lake (Got some pics of it in the photography section), tried to get some shots of the lightning. Then I figured that it was getting close so I got in my truck to leave, drove about 50 feet, stopped, looked out the window to see how close it was, and BAM! Lightning struck pretty close to where I was standing before. Needless to say I was freaked out big time and booked it right back to my hotel room.

very cool. I said the same thing when I was taping lightning. Must be instinct.
