Uncanny Valley been crossed?

In other words, a robot stuck inside the uncanny valley is no longer being judged by the standards of a robot doing a good job at pretending to be human, but is instead being judged by the standards of a human doing a terrible job at acting like a normal person.
Whoa...

Impressive stills, but stills are easy to cross the valley.

Once you have movement of film that's a bit harder to cross.

Flesh moves a particular way, there's micromotions and subtlety that humans have that make humans look human on film.

Sure. Painters and sculptors have been "crossing the valley" for centuries. It's moving things that make our skin crawl.

There were a couple of scenes in the recent version of Beowulf that made my skin crawl--mostly because they rendered Angelina Jolie and her movements so well yet she had a tail.

Yep. Uncanny Valley has always been a motion thing, not something that still shots can capture. Also, those are quite old.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't seem to view that link. Even the Google Cache is slow to the point of timing out.

It's possible with stills, but the valley is narrower and shallower.
