Newest technological advance, this time from New Zealand: a fart vaccine. It's for sheep, but still........ only a matter of time until it gets adapted for us humanoids.

"Ruminants are responsible for about 25 per cent of the methane produced in Britain, but in countries with a large agricultural sector, the proportion is much higher.

The 45 million sheep and 10 million cattle in New Zealand burped and farted about 90 percent of that country's methane emissions, according to government figures."


does anyone know if there's any real science behind statements such as these?

and, IF these numbers are correct, wouldn't it be smarter to find a way to collect that methane as another fuel source rather than vaccinate the animals against producing it?
