I can see this taking off (no pun intended) and getting big. I can also foresee sysadmins the world over kicking it to the curb in a hurry as networks, bogged down by way too many cpu and graphics card cycles for the simple task of checking email, come screeching to a halt.

I also foresee problems aplenty in configuring this stuff for the average home user.

Why would networks get bogged down? I'm not saying its not pointless, I'm just saying that it wouldn't have any affect whatsoever on network load versus normal email. All 'cpu and graphics card cycles' are handled locally, not over the network, so if the end user isn't experiencing problems, why should the SA care?
