Where does the extra person come from?

This should be easy. Count how many people are in this drawing. Wait till the picture shifts and then count again. Surprise! Don't ask me because I can't figure it out either. |
I see it... need to look at in parts... but the shifts and subtractions still has me scratching my head... :hmm:

One person does a full move, not a partial (cut in half, or by body parts). Watch the top row, the guy with the mullet that is not partially balding and combing it all forward. He is also in a black tank top and white shorts. When he is on the left, he is the top row 2nd from the left. When he is on the right he is top row, one head above the left most person. When the pics move, he loses the soles of his shoes and the other guy in the tank takes the soles. He lands in a "white" space.

There are 8 guys with dark shorts in the version with 13 people.
There are 7 guys with dark shorts in the version with 12 people. The 13th guy has white shorts. How does that work? When do we get to take apart the GIF? The dude with the comb-over is pitching a tent. |
