New York canopener

One of my competitors just sent me this link. Apparently he writes the insurance coverage for these guys and is a little worried that it might get to his layer excess of $1M.

The next time you're on the highway, just remember that the truck right behind you could be driven by this guy or someone just like him.

yes this was on the news here... it happens often.

We have Expressways and Parkways. Trucks are not allowed on the Parkways because of low bridges. But inadvertantly there are many times where trucks "forget" and you see them there, sometimes you see them with just a corner "can openered" at least they stopped in time.

Amazing. Drivers aren't _that_ insulated from their load or the outside world. Something in that guy's head must have been very wrong or very medicated.

The same day, I got to work only to find that a copycat with a Uhaul had come out of the confrontation victorious.

I always wondered whether truckers knew their heigth off hand. I always assumed they did but still wondered what would happen to a Canadian truck driver going into the U.S. and seeing height marked in feet or the reverse, a U.S. driver entering Canada and seeing height marked in meters.

Do U.S. truck drivers know their height in meters and Canadians in Feet?

What about all tose guys who rent trucks (Uhauls) for a specific job or move?

Usually there is a sticker on the dashboard right above the gauges in big letters that says ' Vehicle Height xx ft, xx in. '

People never cease to amaze me. Even if he didnt know his height off hand..look at that rig, it is totally destroyed. And he drove 1.5 miles with screaming, ripping, violent shaking all the way through the tunnel...
