I got an advanced copy and if I were you I wouldn't waste the money on it. In the past I have gotten hooked on Eminems albums when they came out, then got tired of them. With this one I could barely finesh it on the first listen. Don't get me wrong some songs are ok, like the anti-bush "mosh." But for the most part the songs are pretty repetative and it doesn't have much replay value.

^ Dammit and here I was thinking he finally put out another good album. Dudes got too much potential to be putting out wack songs. Or maybe I'm wrong about him. I'm gonna give the album a listen anyway to see if I'll like it. But I haven't like an album of his since SSLP.

Yea, i heard it already too. If you want to hear eminem as an indian rapper, then you should by the album. Listen to the track "ass like that" and youll know what im talking about. A lot of the songs are about people being "big meanies" to him, as quoted in the chorus of one of the songs. Overall, i guess its an ok cd. If you want to hear it before buying it, just go to MTV.com and stream it on the leak.

Yeah I would still reccomend you guys checking it out to get your own feel for it. I've read a couple reviews that give it an 8/10. But me and my roomate disagree.

a few years back I would have agreed with you but now, no way. MC Messinian is way better and most people don't even know who he is. KRS-one owns all though |

I'm in the process of listening to this now, and my initial impressions that I like it. I'm only on track 6, but I really like how he tells a story and doesn't just repeat a catch lyric 20 times in a song.
I liked The Eminem Show a lot, and consider myself a fan of his stuff, and from what I've heard so far, this album doesn't disappoint. EDIT: Rainman is funny, but also offensive (big surprise, heh?). Last edited by Jimellow; 11-14-2004 at 11:56 AM.. |

It took a little while to grow on me... but now I'm listening to it pretty regularly...
I can't recall if his other albums did that to me or not.. I think I may have liked them straight-away. I still really enjoy this one, it took me a bit longer. That's all. |

I was blown away by how terrible dre's beats were this time around. Eminem is someone i can take or leave, to quote OneManArmy "anybody can think up a dope punchline / anybody can make three syllables rhyme / anybody can flow for a long-ass time / but how many cats you know can fuel the mind." Not to mention that his antics have always bugged me, shamless publicity stunts dont make an artist.

the whole album gets kind of repetative after a while, though he does have some good work on there, i love it when Em get introspective (that tin soldiers song). ANd i damn near crapped my pants laughing when i heard My First Single (all the "taking a dump" sound effects in the back) Year i have the sense of humor of a 12 year old boy, but eh, my name IS cockmonger

From what I've heard, Eminem lost his good flow on his album. Which is really bad for him if true. Flow is all Eminem ever had. His lyrics have generally always been awful.
