cheesemoney, Battlefield 1942 crashes to desktop on basically every computer ever made.
EA's tech support has an entire section devoted to the "crashing to desktop" problem, so I doubt it's your OC that's making it happen. OC'ing problems usually cause the game to freeze up or the entire PC to reset back into POST while playing. Crashing to desktop is usually driver problems.
