To me, there's nothing inherent in the definition of "omnipotence" that suggests that it must be continual--omnipotence is the state of having absolute power. Your definition seems to be that omnipotence is the state of having absolute power for eternity. If you use that definition, I agree with everything you say.
However, as "omni" means all, and "potence" is power, I don't see anything in the definition that suggests that it has to be forever.
