I don't have time at the moment to read the links you posted - I'll get to them later - but I can tell you this:
Yes, Lindows throws a LOT of money around "supporting" things. (Michael Robertson has a TON to throw around after ripping off the mp3.com users.) I'm a very frequent user of kde-look.org and I can tell you 1) if Lindows hadn't helped out, then SOMEONE would have - a LOT of people use kde-look.org and 2) sure, it's great that they gave money to kde-look.org, but I can tell you that the very large majority of kde-look users were very upset about it. I can't think of many, if any, Linux advocates that support Lindows and its agenda.
For anyone who cares to know, <a href="http://www.pclinuxonline.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=4547">here is a PCLinuxOnline thread about Lindows selling ANTIVIRUS software for Linux.</a> Now, people who already use Linux - not Lindows target market - know that generally speaking that's an absolutely ABSURD idea. Lindows target market - Windows users - are, however, used to AV software and naturally fear viruses. Lindows is exploiting that fear to make money. Of course, I suppose AV software might be necessary for the 20 or so viruses Linux has when you're making people run as root by default
At quick glance it looks like the links are mainly reviews of Lindows. So, great, it's a little user-friendly. The point here is that user-friendliness can be gotten for a much smaller (even no) cost through other means, and their business practices are unethical at best. You've got to look past just the physical product.
