1280/960=1.3333333333333333333333333333333
1024/768=1.3333333333333333333333333333333
800/600=1.3333333333333333333333333333333
the 1280/1024 makes everything squished... whereas 1280x960 keeps the same aspect ratio of all the other resolutions...

Yes you could actually see the flashing and it leaves you crazy after running it at 75hz for a long time then going back down to 60hz.
1280 x 960 is just to large for my tastes. I guess I just got used to 1280 x 1024.
