A way to get an appointment is to just ask, but show enough that they will be interested. Another way is to leverage another relationsip. You might even convince someone at a lower position at the station to be your coach and advisor since they know the folks inside the station better than you.
Once you get the appointment, better be able to show a clear, bottom line financial benefit for the station to do this. They are in the business to make money so they need to seen an ROI - return on investment. And any time they use is their number one investment!
