The Question of Iraq

I really think the time has come to stop all the bickering...

Regardless of what either side thinks (Did Bush or Blair lie? Was there "just" cause? etc.) it is time to move on.

Let's face it, the deed is done. The US and its so-called coalition of the willing have invaded and overthrown Saddam and his administration.

It is time to shift the discussion to a more constructive one. What needs to be done to put the Iraqi's back on their feet? What steps need to be taken? What funding? Who should call the shots? What form of democracy should they have?

How we got into this situation (as galling as it is to some) is fairly moot when you start to think about the average Iraqi on the ground in Iraq.

Their world has been turned upside down (some might argue it has been turned upside down for many years now).

Am I naive in this? Perhaps. But I argue that the petty partisanism servers little purpose.

Take out your angst at the ballot box.

(of course it is easy for me as a Canadian to say this... the stakes aren't as high. But speaking as an outiside observer... sheesh)
