I did 4 years active duty in the US Navy in the submarine force. Being military does force you grow up and can change your life in significant ways. I have been all over the world from my time in the navy, and if I never would have joined I probably never would have left Los Angeles. You also learn how to deal with the gov't and MASSIVE beaucracy (sp?).
