Red octane soft pads aren't bad. You need to tape them or graft them to the floor in some manner though. Hard pads are really responsive but sorta easy to break. Steel pads are really strong, fairly expensive and tough to repair but hard to break and really good to use because they are responsive. I was looking around at the red octane pads, but they're $99 a piece!

I still think I might get some cheapie pads and just reinforce them with plywood like a lot of people seem to say. I believe I still have an old PSX pad so I could always mod it then get a PS2-Xbox adapter.
