I don't know. We've been on this roller coaster many times, and we still don't know where the hell we're going.
It must be tremendously difficult to place someone in that kind of power. I certainly don't envy the person who will take Saddam's place.
On the other hand, they are the United States Government. Surely they, if anybody, has the political knowhow/resources to get the job done.
The selection of a proper political leader in Iraq will make or break our platform on Middle Eastern peace. If we slap another despotic twit into power it will surely destroy what little credability we have left in the Middle East.
