Biking will definitely help, if you do a lot of good slopes. Weights and a leg-intensive exercise like biking are sort of synergistic. I always made better gains when I did both, rather than weights alone.
Also had good results with weight training combined with traditional roller skating (with ankle weights). Got rid of those skinny calves once and for all.
