Father Quadrial loads up on food and water for the trip. In the armory he finds a simple ax that is to his liking and a fine yew wood longbow with a quiver of clothyard arrows.
He is a little disconcerted when the ravens fly down the hall and follow him out to the front gate where other members of the party are waiting.
