Is the line between talent ( Michele Branch--actually I don't thing she is that talented and Britney who likewise I don't think is that talented either) that gets blurred when it comes to visual subjectivity because of ones identity or the way they conduct themselves?

it could be because her reputation is more low-key than britney's. she hasn't established herself as an attention whore, or desperate. this alone makes her maxim photos stand out in a resiliency britney's does not. she also knows how to play guitar. and i think if a female not only sings, but plays her own instrument, she is more respected in the music industry.
