ah, the days of highschool romance :-D
there's really nothing here that can jeopardize your friendship. that's what's so great about being friends first--whether it works itself out into a relationship or not--you will always have the friendship there. i've come to find that relationships that start off as friendships are generally better because you've already set the groundwork and you already KNOW eachother..
so, you've nothing to lose really. take everyone's advice and go for it
