but your post seems to say both methods, incremental and overwrite, nearly all backup software does incremental backups, the other is just a mirror.

I guess it was poorly worded, but I'm not really up on that stuff. I think what I meant was incremental going by your description. You say all backup software does that, but are some better than others? Ease of use may be of importance
