Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop (Bluetooth)
This is probably a repost, but seeing as how I can't search for other threads, it's resulted to this.
I got a Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop (for Bluetooth), and I can't get this thing working. I have followed the instructions point by point all the way through. Here are a list of my problems.
If there are batteries in the mouse, it won't find the keyboard, so I've resulted to only attempting to get the keyboard going, and haven't made it past that point yet.
Scenario 1)
The keyboard is discovered. It attempts to authenticate in IntelliType Pro, and when the authentication part begins, it immediately tells me that the passkey is invalid, without giving me a chance to enter it. Upon further attempts, the keyboard is not discovered.
Scenario 2)
The keyboard is discovered. It attempts to authenticate, lets me enter the passkey, and then says the passkey is incorrect.
Scenario 3)
Nothing is found.
Scenario 4 - attempting through the Wireless Link in Control Panel, instead of IntelliType Pro)
keyboard is found, does not verify as having Bluetooth services, cannot enter passkey.
Scenario 5 - Wireless Link)
Keyboard is found, has the Bluetooth services, goes all the way up to authentication, then fails with "Unknown error." Upon further attempts, keyboard cannot be discovered.
Scenario 6 - Wireless Link)
Same as 5 except when I get frustrated and cancel, the keyboard magically begins working for approximately 30 seconds. Then it go psycho and starts scrolling whatever the last key I pressed was, and ceases functioning. Upon restart, the keyboard can't be found.
There's about a billion more problems I've had with it as well, but it boils down to this: the keyboard will not authenticate, and that's when I can even detect the freaking thing.
