I'm in the
other hotbed of Amish inactivity, southern Maryland. Other things particular to this area:
Crabs: Folks here think they invented eating the beasts. I love crabs, but I think the ones from the Delaware Bay are superior.
Stuffed Ham: Regular ham isn't good enough. You have to cut it flat, fill it with a bunch of stuffing, roll it up and bake it again. It's practically a cult.
Tax and Spend Politicians: Maryland is the original hotbed of evil corrupt government. Think Spiro Agnew. 'nuff said.
Tobacco Farms: Virginia has nothing on this scam. They don't actually grow tobacco any more, just collect the federal money
not to grow it.
Oriental Spas: They are everywhere.
