networking question
ok this one is a bit complex
my computer has 3 metwork interface cards.
two 3com and one netgear
and my net works consists of 1 linksys router (4 port + uplink), and 1 linksys hub(5 port +1 uplink)
the hub's uplink is plugged into the router (non uplink) and it works just fine
here is the question.
the IP's of my cards are confusing me.
here is the read out of ipconfig:
Windows 2000 IP Configuration Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 3: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Autoconfiguration IP Address. . . : 169.254.233.190 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : charterpipeline.com
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.101 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : charterpipeline.com
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.100 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
i want to know why one of the cards is 169.254.233.190 instead of the logical 192.168.1.102
my router starts passing out ip's at 192.168.1.100
any ideas?
