New soundcard but new problems arise
Well 10 months ago my computer messed up pretty bad and I had to re-format it. So I did and since Windows ME didn't want to re-install I installed Windows 98SE. But it seems my soundcard didn't want to work. After re-installing the drivers it still didn't work. So I re-formatted again, installed Windows, installed the drivers, and still no sound. So I put up with it until recently, I decided to purchase a new soundcard. So I get one, a Creative Soundblaster 16 PCI 4.1. Install the drivers and whatnot, and turn it on. Hurry, I hear the windows startup sound. Open up AIM to let my friends know and the sound works there aswell. So I try to play some celebration music. It freezes. I guess thats normal, so I restart and try again. Freezes. Ugh, I try to play a Video, freezes. Damn. Try to play Counter-Strike. Freezes. So now I don't know what to do.
It also freezes when I try to open up Volume Controls via Windows. The Volume Controls in the Creative Mixer seem to work fine. When I try to open AudioHQ it says "No audio device that is compatible with this application can be found. Reinstall the card and run the installation package again."
