I think the only answer I can offer is that you can't get your folks to do whatever they're not ready for. You just need to keep following your heart and eventually everyone will come around. You're an adult who can make her own decisions, and your parents will accept that as soon as they're ready. It was kind of the same thing with chewy and me, but the age difference played alot with it too. His family was very accepting of me after a while, so it will work out for you too
