Also, HNIC will go for long periods of time without having commercials, whereas ESPN is constantly interupting the game with endless commercials.
Watch a game broadcast by Bob Cole and follow the play or listen to the babble and drone of Gary Thorne. You would think you were listening to a game on Radio with Thorne, except for the fact that they don't talk as much on radio.
I know what you mean. My dish has ESPN and CBC feeds. The ESPN play-by-play guys have no clue how to tell the viewer what's going on down on the ice. You can tell they are well schooled in baseball anouncing because they are so fucking boring.

I'm still waiting for the "I can't see the puck" comment.
