It bugs me too. I like getting gifts for people (and I'll admit getting gifts..) but I don't even think about Christmas before Thanksgiving. Damn, lets deal with one holiday at a time!
Its too commericalized. You've got the right idea in just spending time with family. That's what the holidays SHOULD be all about.
And don't even get me started on being single this time of year. From Halloween to Valentines day. Man, it sucks.
