Sleep paralysis, continued
I know sleep paralysis has been discussed at length already, but it's so damn weird it merits another thread.
It happens to me about once every 4 or 5 months. I know exactly what's going on when it happens.. No hallucinations or continuations of dreams, I just calm down and gradually start moving my extremities until all is well again. Usually takes about 30 seconds.
Last night was different, though. I fell asleep on the couch, and woke up from a dream paralyzed. I started moving my extremities, but it was taking MUCH longer than usual.. And before I was able to move, I heard the front door (which was situated behind me) open, stop against its chain (the deadbolt is busted so I just keep it chained for now), and then close again. It probably took a good 3 minutes before I was able to move again, which was quite an increase from 30 seconds.
I'm leaning toward it just being an extension of being in a dreamlike state, but it sure was weird. Has anyone else had sleep paralysis where you're fully aware of what's happening and just waiting it out, but had some sort of dream/hallucination anyway?
