This is an example of a reflexive pronoun. The most common use of reflexives is to A: show that an action was completed without aid- "I cooked dinner myself." B: show that something was done for the benefit of the doer- "I cooked dinner for myself." C: emphasize to uniqeness of the object or direct object- "I cooked dinner for the President himself."
The use of the reflexive to emphasize oneself in the first person is not grammatically incorrect, but does sound redundant. It is best to separate the "I" and "myself" by the maximum distance- "I haven't met with him myself."
