First off, animals do kill for other than the reasons you mention as discussed in the thread. Second, nuclear holocaust will not kill all human life.
And you claimed that we were "going out of our way to make ourselves extinct" I pointed out that our population is growing significantly and we're obviously not trying to make ourselves extinct.
Animals kill to get what other animals have, they do it for territory, they do it for food, they do it to reduce competition. For some reason you seem to think that animal behavior is more altruistic than human behavior. I disagree.
