Owning an automobile is not an American's right, owning a firearm is. I don't have a problem with requiring people to undergo some form of safety training prior to purchasing a handgun (aka a "purchase permit" here in MN), just the random denial of responsible citizens rights to own a gun.
With that note, this thread is about Canada, let's please not bring American politics into it. :P
