I believe Janis Joplin was just getting warmed up when she died at 27. Her first couple albums were good, but her last was a masterpiece.
Buddy Holly died at 22, if he lived he probably would've made a huge influece on popular music.
Randy Rhoads was a good guitarist (understatement) dead at just 25. He'd be in his mid 40s now, I can only imagine what he could've done with all those years.
(ages are approximate, so please be nice if I was a year off. 2 or more years off, then kick me.)
