1. The razor and the shaving gel are good choices.
2. It might take your skin a little while to get used to it.
3. Make sure you're shaving in the direction that the hair is growing, not against.
4. Go slowly. It's not a race.
5. Invest in a mesh sponge thingy from a bath product store. Use that. Scrub, scrub, scrub. This will help with preventing ingrown hairs.
6. Try using some of the hair inhibitor lotions. I believe Aveeno produces those as well.
