Thanks! But I was talkin bout the very beginning vocal part -- and i just figured out what it is: "
Heaven & Hell is on Earth" from the
20th Century Steel Band. Obscure as hell, right? they played the original on the radio the other day...it's been sampled by a few different artists too, & I was probably originally thinking of an older popular track that used that sample...
man i must have spent hours searching for that tune!!
ps South Bronx from Boogie Down Productions was also sampled in Jenny from the Block
