the thing is, I don't see the character as an extension of myself, but a different entity entirely. She has her own history, outlook, and attitude, which are noticably different from mine.
Does this mean that there will be some people who act differently toward me? Yes. But when you think about it, that's they're problem, not mine. I simply make the assumption that whoever is playing is human, and not automatically decide if someone is male or female based on the avatar. Rather than treat people differently based on gender, MMORPG's should force people to be aware of thier actions at all times, because you never know who's who.
That, and I'd rather stare at a Night Elf chick for the time I'm playing the character.
